The Multidisciplinary Team: Foundational Infrastructure for ACT and FACT
Overview
In Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (FACT), assembling a multidisciplinary treatment team is essential for navigating public service systems and effectively addressing the complex constellation of social, economic, mental health, and physical health needs of the populations of focus. This training will review provider role types needed to implement an evidence-informed ACT or FACT team configuration. We will orient participants to the scope of work and role expectations for each provider type within the ACT or FACT team, as well as the relationship between provider role functioning and fidelity to the ACT and FACT models. Other structural features of the team needed to maximize effective service delivery, such as staff-client ratios, role of the team leader, and role of office-based program assistance will also be reviewed. Finally, we will orient participants to common barriers to implementing an evidence-informed team configuration and strategies for addressing such barriers.
