Clinical supervision serves as an important high leverage intervention for mental health professionals working on intensive mental health teams such as Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams or Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) teams. The quality of clinical supervision has a profound impact on levels of staff burnout, job satisfaction, and competence (Sewell et al., 2024), which can in turn impact client outcomes. This training will provide both a theoretical and practical overview of the core components of clinical supervision in the context of Assertive Community Treatment as a model of care. Participants will review important characteristics of the supervisory relationship and learn strategies for building an effective working alliance in ACT and FACT supervision.
